Your child's favorite day of the week!

ARTFUL AUGUST PROJECTS

The First Kids Ministry Team has put together a whole month-load of art projects to do with the family at home. But we don't want it to stop there, we want to be able to showcase what you've made. We will be holding a Kids Art Show on Sunday October 11, 2020 where we'll display the art Your kids have created. We'll invite the First Church Family to see how the kids have interpreted the Bible stories through art. If you missed the projects in the Kids E-Magazine, they are all listed below with links to follow.

SUN, MOON, STARS METALLIC PAPER
The Sun, moon, stars, and planets give us a glimpse of how perfect God’s creation is. All three things work together to make our planet the only one that can sustain life.  Space is such a fun subject and highlights the Creation story that God made it all.

BEAN ART ANIMALS
Bean and seed mosaics have been around for ages, and if you’ve made them before you’ll know how fun and satisfying they are to make. And by using bright shades of paint in combination with the beans, they get a playful, modern look. Get a variety of beans to make your favorite animal. Is it an ape, a duck, or a dog? What is your favorite animal?

TISSUE PAPER STAINED GLASS FISH
Stained glass is glass colored by
adding metallic salts when it is made.
The colored glass is made into stained glass windows. Small pieces of glass
are arranged to form patterns or
pictures. The glass is held together by strips of lead and supported by a rigid frame. You can do something similar with colored tissue paper to color your room.

MOON MOSAIC
CDs are a great material for mixed-media art since they have a distinctive cool shiny texture, and their round shape makes them perfect for spinning crafts too. In this activity, you'll need to gather some old CDs to smash up to make a mosaic.

TINFOIL SCULPTURE
God created the first man as a special creation. He told the man that he is supposed to care for God’s creation. When God’s creation was complete, He announced that it is very good! God created you special too. Twist, bend, stretch, curve, angle, twirl your tinfoil sculpture to artistically show what you like to do:  dance, kick a ball, jump rope!

SUNDAYS ARE FOR FUN

THE FIRST KIDS SUNDAY PROGRAM HAS BEEN HALTED DUE TO COVID-19. CHECK BACK TO SEE WHEN IT WILL RESUME.

At First Kids, your child won’t have a chance to be bored! Newborns through 5th graders have a ton of fun as they learn about Jesus through worship, age-specific lessons, and a variety of exciting activities.

Our kids area is fully staffed with trustworthy individuals who are committed to ministering to children. You can be confident that your child is well-cared for and have a great experience.

HOW CHECK-IN WORKS

Before Service: You can check-in your child at the entrance to the LCLC. You will find a sign-in book with the required forms to provide us your information and contact numbers just in case we need to get in touch with you during our First Kids time together.

After Service: After the service is complete, you will return to your child's room and show your identification for your child to be released to you.

During the Service: In the event that we need to contact you during the service, we will attempt to text to your mobile device to alert you to come to the LCLC. We ask that you proceed to the LCLC where someone will allow you access to the facility and direct you to your child's room.
